Baggage Handler / CTX Porter / BSA Job Descriptions

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Please know that both positions will be assigned on daily basis and as required by the need of the operation and/or manpower requirements.

Baggage Runner

  • Comply with safety in the workplace.
  • Must set up the counter (Extensions, signs, banners, chairs, carpets etc…)
  • If working in front of the counter must assist passengers offloading their luggage’s from the carts into the scale.
  • If working behind the counter must remove the luggage’s from the scale and placed them into the belt.
  • Comply with proper baggage hygiene
  • Accurately complete all assigned activities
  • Coordinate and communicate with relevant departments (Ramp Team, Bag room Team, Customer Service, and management)
  • Clear Understanding of Airport Legislative Requirements and regulations.
  • Transfer LIVE animals to the bag room and complete the paperwork for the bag room coordinator

CTX Porter

  • Remove all unknown luggage’s from the belt located in the TBIT BIR room
  • Mark them either with an U (upper) or L (lower) depending on location and drop them off at the designated baggage conveyor belt
  • Remove Suspects luggage’s and write down the last 4 digits and give these bags to TSA personnel
  • Accurately complete all assigned activities
  • Coordinate and communicate with relevant departments (Ramp Team, Bag room Team, Customer Service, and airline and APS management)
  • Clear Understanding of Airport Legislative Requirements and regulations.
  • Any other duties as required by the operations

CTX Porter

  • Must be able to provide a valid CA identification (ID or Driver License)
  • Must have at least a High School Diploma
  • Must be able to work split shifts
  • Must be able to lift and maneuver 50 lbs.
  • Must be able to stand 6-8 hours daily
  • Must be proficient in English
  • Airport experience a big plus
  • Able to stay overtime to get the work done in timely manner
  • Must be able to work at a fast-paced environment
  • Must pass a background check and pre-employment physical and drug screen
  • Must be able to legally work in the U.S.A.
  • Common sense and organized
  • Effective communication skills and good listening skills
  • Able to multi-task and carry out duties in a fast-paced environment
